5 reasons why you will love Ibiza as your holiday destination
Do you like to know why Ibiza is THE holiday destination in Europe? Our very good friend Dainahara Polonia, owner of mypersonalstyle.nl, wrote a great blog post about her adventures on Ibiza.
My first time on Ibiza
I fell in love with Ibiza during my first visit in 2011. My girlfriends and I wanted a holiday with sun, beach, relaxation and of course also a girl’s night out to dance the night away. Well, Ibiza granted all our wishes and more than that. The mini holidays I spent on the island are enough for me to recharge my battery and head back home in a very happy state and in a Zen mode. Ibiza is a surprising island. Every time you return it has something else to offer to you. Of course most people know Ibiza as the party island but it’s so much more! Yet, while on the subject of parties: Ushuaia is one of my favourite party venues on the island. The shows are great and if you like, you can hop in the pool to do some water ballet.
We explored some Ibiza beaches
During my second visit we rented a car and spent all day cruising the north side of the island. This was great fun and I recommend doing this during your holiday. We visited three great beaches: Benirras, Cala Salada and Portinatx. I love Benirras beach, also known as the hippie beach, mostly because of the Elements Beach Lounge where you can get the best juices and smoothies. Also, you can buy fresh pineapple and coconut from a vendor on the beach. The sunset on Cala Salada just gave me goose bumps! The stairs leading down to the beach tested my endurance but were worth every step. Portinatx is a lovely small beach with clear waters and large rocks on which you can stand and enjoy the sun and a great view.
Benirras fantastic to relax body and mind when you are on Ibiza
The city centre of Ibiza is also worth a visit. It has great shops that sell designer clothes as well as designs created by locals. You will find several squares where you can sit and enjoy a lovely dinner among the Spanish inhabitants. I like the fact that most restaurants have the beach lounge feel and look. The price range of restaurants is very diverse, there is enough to choose from, whether you are willing to spend a lot or are on a budget.
Are you coming to Ibiza soon?
I have been to the island of Ibiza twice now and can’t wait to go visit it again soon. Feel free to look at some Instagram pictures from my recent trip. Maybe these will help you to plan your trip to Ibiza. My recommendations are: a jeep safari day trip, visiting the north of the island, Benirras & Elements Beach Lounge, Portinatx and Ushuaia Hotel. Enjoy!
