Amazing sports activities on Ibiza

Sports in Ibiza

Ibiza is known for its vibrant nightlife and it seems to us that journalists that has arrived on the Island clearly have no other agenda than writing only about this. It is always sad when people are so one dimensional that they have to put people or places in boxes instead of looking at the diversity and the greatness that this Island can give you. Ibiza was possibly only about the freedom and the nightlife butthis has dramatically changed, it is about time that journalists wake up!

Ibiza is truly special when it comes to what you can do on the Island, and believe it or not Ibiza is a complete paradise for sports hungry people. It is also incredible to mix some activities like lacy beach life and hardcore nightlife with sports, you will travel home much more satisfied when you manage to combine sports with the rest.

Mountain Biking on Ibiza

The Island offers rental of great mountain bikes and then it is just to enjoy rough tracks, quiet roads, open pine forest with incredible scenery towards the crystal clear sea, steep hill sides and rides that can last forever. The area Playa den BossaSalinasCala JondalEs CubellsEs Vedra and ending up west for the sunset is just an amazing experience.

Arriving at Club De Campo on the road to San Joseph is really a great experience. A large facility with clay courts, paddle courts, giant swimming pool to be used before or after a tennis class, snack bar and large TV screen to follow on going tournaments like the French Open, Wimbledon or US open. Paying € 50 you have your personal tennis coach and 1 hour of tennis or paddle.

Go for a run

Hardly anything in our opinion can beat the early morning sunrise jogging feeling on the beach. This experience around 7-8 in the morning gives your day another dimension. It is such a beautiful scenery, so peaceful and amazing.

Kiting in Ibiza                                                      Photo’s by Merete and Emily Marstrander

If people want more of a slow activity we can surly advice them to start the day at the little supermarket out in Salinas make sure to buy some water, fruit and chocolate. Pass the salt mountain and continue to walk out towards Cap Des Falco. Take 5 minutes to just take this view in at Cap De Falco. Continue up wards to the left and follow the path next to the sea all the way to Salinas. Stop at Malibu for a great lunch and a swim before picking up the car back at the supermarket.

South and west are amazing Kite places where you will find many beginners and professionals. There is possible to join Kite classes various places on the Island and when you get hooked on this you will have a new addiction in life. The water and nature you are looking at while kiting is just incredible, it is really worth a try. Besides what is listed above the Island is great for diving road biking, Yoga & Pilates in and out-door, carting, sailing and a lot more. Even the golf course on the Island is not bad. We strongly advice people visiting to include sport in their vacation plans and we can help out whatever the clients are willing to test.
