I would like to welcome you to my monthly wedding blog, in which I will write about my passion everything related to weddings in general and weddings in Ibiza. Since lovely Marisa and Virgil asked me to write this monthly blog I have been so excited and spent hours in the on the world wide web to get inspiration. I am very grateful for the opportunity to share this with you, my dear audience.
Your Ibiza wedding
As the year 2013 is still fresh and new, my first blog is about the wedding trends for this year. You can get some inspirations for your own wedding or maybe you can give advice to your best friend / sister who’s getting married…Let’s start with the most important thing for girls (and boys) The dress
Since the glamorous wedding of Kate and William in London, the “Princess look” is one of the highlights. It consists of feminine cuts, ribbon belts, figure flattering hourglass silhouettes and shiny jewelry trimmings. To make the look perfect, you need a gown with multilayer skirts and details like embroidery and ruffles, gloves and a real time princess of course needs a tiara or a veil.

One of the ideas I love most is to buy a Vintage piece and get it sewn by a tailor this is part of the Eco-chic wedding trend an economic, ecologic and original way to shine brightly at your wedding.Some nice online shops are:
One of the highlights is the Vintage-Style and one of the designers who interprets that the best is Justin Alexander. He is inspired by the look of Hollywood in the 30s or the Parisian chic of the 50s: Beautiful ball gowns with Venetian lace and a lot of tulle, beadwork and fine dupion silk in an exciting mix.
Eco-chic wedding:
Since this is the biggest trend for 2013 I put the focus on the Ecochic wedding: more and more couples prefer sustainability and responsibility at their wedding. One big part is the wedding ring. Therefore people nowadays ask for certificates or Eco labels such as “Fair Gold” which ensure that the precious metals or stones weren’t gained through child labour or in politically unstable countries. Colours like Flamingo, pink, aquamarine are also new wedding trends and bring diversity to the endless white, cream, and nude tones in general.
Of course when you go for green, you need to think about the flowers: where are they coming from, do they need to be imported, or can you go for local, seasonal flowers? Ask your florist for advice. Then there’s the catering: where do the ingredients come from, is the menu very “meaty” and if yes, can the meat be bought from a local farmer or organic supermarket?
