On Ibiza you will experience and enjoy the typical Mediterranean climate. In summertime it could be steaming hot during the day and comfortably warm at summer nights. The average temperature in the months of May until October is about 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, and from October until April the temperature reads an average of 8 to 18 degrees Celsius. That makes Ibiza an excellent holiday destination during the entire year. There is hardly any rain and Ibiza roughly has 300 days of sunshine a year, so don’t forget to bring your sunglasses!

In summer, temperatures can get as high as 30 degrees Celsius. This is just comfortable enough to sleep on the beach during the day, so you can party to your heart’s content at night. Make sure you protect yourself with a good sun block otherwise you can get seriously sunburned, and drink plenty of water during the day. In September to October you can experience a little rainfall but in most cases it will not last more than a few days.

During wintertime, temperatures hardly get under 0 degrees Celsius. Snow in Ibiza is very rare, that’s why the few moments that snowflakes come down in Ibiza are considered something very special. This might be hard to imagine for a lot of us who are living in Europe.

When you visit Ibiza in wintertime, make sure to pack some warm clothes because not all hotels and villas have central heating. One winter in Ibiza we experienced this ourselves when we were staying in a old Finca of a friend of ours. Since the walls are so thick to keep the warmth outside during summertime, the house turned out to be very moist and cold because there was no heating during the winter. Lying on the beach all day long in wintertime is not something you should hope for, but it can be very cozy and warm in Ibiza’s winter sun and a few hours in a bathing suit on a windless spot is actually possible.

Water temperatures vary. In May, water temperatures are around 18.5 degrees Celsius, in  June 21.5, July, August and September 26 and October 24.5 degrees Celcius.
