Cala Conta

We love Cala Conta because of the beaches, fantastic views, beautiful sunsets and fantastic restaurants and bars. Cala Conta (Cala Comte) is about 13 kilometres from San Antonio (San Antoni de Portmany). It comprises 3 beaches. The first beach is one with a rocky shoreline. The second one is one carpeted with beautiful undulated sand dunes like the ones you find in the desert. The third one is a cove where naturalists nudists can freely enjoy their own world. The beach has a cove where anyone can go naked unnoticed, which means a complete sense of freedom unknown to the conservative world and which can seldom be enjoyed to this extent by people with free spirits!

The beach can boast about its very clear and cool, refreshing salt water. From the shore of Cala Conta, several islands or islets are visible. These islands are S'illa des Bosc, Na Gorra, El Vaixell, Na Bosc, S’Escull d’en Ramon, Na Plana, S’Escull Vermell and S’Escull de Tramuntana. Added to its natural wonder is the very romantic sunset which is experienced best with your loved one beside you. The last six months of the year are windy which makes the place ideal for wind surfing. This place is relatively crowded during summer: it is then full of people who want to enjoy the view, the sun, wind and water. It is very safe for children which makes it ideal for families with little kids and the beach is a Blue Flag beach.

When the sun goes down and the world is slowly turning darker, feel the warm breeze from the ocean as you sip your favorite drinks or dine at the restaurants and bars on the beach of Cala Conta. You may want to visit Restaurant s'Illa des Bosc which is named after one of the islands in front of Cala Conta. The restaurant serves the best sea foods.

The most beautiful time of day is the sunset, which everyone in the world would love to witness, as the scenery brings back memories, either wonderful or melancholical. It’s the time of day when one experiences the feeling of being one with mother nature when the last ray of sun says its farewell to you and the world...It is at its best at Cala Conta. In fact, this beach is famous because of its magnificent sunset. There is one beach bar and restaurant in Cala Conta that is named after this wonderful phenomenon, Sunset Ashram. Try the cocktail bar while enjoying the amazing view. Their deejays play music as the sun slowly goes down. It is open from May to October.

The beach has sun beds and umbrellas or parasols which you will need because most of the areas of the beach allow full access to the dominant rays of sun. There are also pedaloes you may want to use to make your stay even more enjoyable. It also has toilets and showers. Safety is not a problem as there are lifeguards on duty who are more than capable in case of an emergency. The beach is also well accessible for the disabled.

Reaching the beach is pretty easy by car. Just follow the signs to Cala Comte. You may also decide to take a bus. The nearest bus stop is only 50 metres from the beach. A third option is taking the ferry from San Antonio to get there.

In short: when the sun is going down and Ibiza slowly welcomes the dark, come to Cala Conte and enjoy the amazing sunset!
