Las Salinas
Another Beach you will love to go and enjoy is Las Salinas Beach. This beach is a mile of crescent- shaped sand bordering the backdrop of a small pine forest. It is called "Ses Salines" in the Catalan dialect. The name itself stems from the famous salt flats near the beach. The beach distinguishes itself by, literally, being close to large salt lakes that have been producing salt for 2,000 years. A wide region around it is a protected Wildlife Conservation Area. A walk towards the watchtower during the off-season is great way of traversing the woods, more than enough to create wonderful memories.
There are so many things to do on the beach. The body of crystal clear water has super breakers appearing on windy days, which are perfect for surfing. Also, you may want to welcome the temptation of the sparkling clear water when snorkelling and seeing what mystery lies below the surface of the sea. The area between beach clubs Jockey Club and Sa Trinxa, which is called Es Migjorn, is a Blue Flag area.

The beach is popular among the party scene and the hip and beautiful. As the evening falls and the night announces itself, the music in the beach clubs gets louder and people start dancing on the beach. You may hear Jon Sa Trinxa, an island music icon, playing his unique Balearic beats well in beach club Sa Trinxa. At Sa Trinxa you will find the party and fashion people. It is also a perfect spot to rest and recover from a wild and tired state due to the never ending parties. Here you can find a quiet spot and enjoy personalized services such as a massage to ease up tensed and tired muscles. Apart from Sa Trinxa, you can also find other beach clubs. At the Jockey Club fantastic Italian food is served and deejays play summer music. Malibu is predominantly for the jet set who come here often by boat to have lunch and at Guarana, at the far end of Salinas, to enjoy the great atmosphere.
There are some (expensive) hotels near Salinas Beach for you to choose from, but there are also beautiful villas for rent in this area.
Getting there is no problem: there are a great number of buses from Ibiza Town. If you want to go there by car, you just need to follow the signs to the airport and then at the bend or roundabout by the Hippodrome, take the second turn to Salinas. Salinas is approximately 10 km from Ibiza Town and about 6 km from its nearest beach, the Playa d'en Bossa. Beware of the traffic though, especially during the high season. The place now has a paid parking area with good facilities and covered parking bays. Parking costs 4 Euros a day. While enjoying the beach, you may want to rent parasols and sun beds (7 Euros each). The beach has showers for you to rinse that salty water off your skin.
Las Salinas or Ses Salines, no matter how you call the place, it only spells one thing...Magic! Come and have fun and enjoy the once in a lifetime experience, only at Las Salinas! ![]()
