Working in Ibiza

Imagine the sun, sea and beautiful people all day around you while being on the work floor...Is this a dream or...?

We all want to live our dream and we think you should do too. Therefore, if you want to work in Ibiza during the summer season you need to know a few things. First of all you need to find a job. Ibiza offers a wide range of summer jobs: waiters, promoters, sales people or hosts. The best thing you can do is explore the internet and keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter. Often, employers post their job ads there first. Then, you could send a dull email just like all the other 10.000 people who are pursuing the same position...or you can play it smart…Book a cheap ticket to Ibiza early in the season and  personally visit the desired place where you would like to work. People will be surprised that you put so much effort in your job hunt that you will be among favourites for the job.

If you are a Non EU citizen, a work permit is required. Obtaining such a permit is not an easy task since your future employer must prove that he first tried to hire someone from the EU. This is a lot of hassle, but it is the unfortunate reality. However, don’t be disillusioned by this silly rule, just follow your dream and you will make it happen!

When you are planning to stay throughout the whole year, make sure that you apply for a NIE number. This number provides you with a Spanish social security plan as well as the right to receive health care. You can apply at a Spanish consulate in your own country or do this in Spain. If you want to read more about this go to www.nienumber.com.

Make your dreams come true and head to Ibiza to work and create fantastic memories!
