Our new life in Ibiza part two
Getting used to the Ibiza rhythm is something that takes time once you have started living here instead of being on holiday. It´s funny how it still feels like it´s a big holiday. Even though we think this feeling will fade away in time, the people we have met tell us it won’t. So, what’s the big difference between living here and being on a holiday?? This time I will share two things with you…
The Ibiza holiday feeling
The holiday Ibiza feeling… sometimes it feels like it is not possible to live a life like this: waking up in the morning when you have slept enough, no rush in the morning, no traffic jams, no obligations to be somewhere on time. NOOO! Whenever you feel like it´s time to get to work, it´s time to get to work. Whenever you feel like you have to wait a little more, you wait a little more. Does that mean that we don´t work and sit on our arses every day enjoying the sunshine? No way!! We are busy as hell! It just doesn’t feel like working anymore. And that’s only because we do what we love doing most. Over the last two months we have prepared our little Bed & Breakfast. We fully furnished and decorated the house, the garden, the kitchen and the bathroom. We reused a lot of stuff which needed some repair. We repainted cupboards and had some serious shopping sprees. Every day we have been busy till late in the evening. But the results are brilliant! We love our inventive decoration style, love our place, love our neighbours and love to show it to our guests. In the meantime the first guests have left and at the moment I am writing this blog I am waiting for our second guest.
We are living the Ibiza dream
I really don’t have to leave Ibiza ?
This brings me to the second subject. This morning there were two bags waiting in the garden and two really sad faces who didn’t want to leave and say goodbye. I know this feeling so well. When I had to leave Ibiza I always had to cry. But this morning it sort of hit me: I am not the one who is leaving! It was fantastic to enjoy the quietness in the house and to prepare it for our next guest. Even cleaning the house put me in some kind of meditative state of mind. And that state of mind is exactly the one I like.
Life is beautiful
So yes, life does change a little bit when you live in Ibiza instead of being on vacation. We do have to work and the days are longer. But is that a bad thing? For us it’s not. You know why? Because it still feels like a holiday and we enjoy every minute of it!
