Rebecca Cella Bridal designer and blogger for Ibiza Inside
Wow, it has been a roller coaster time for me since the early arrival of my beautiful baby boy, Gabriel in October. Who could foresee the son of a fashion designer would be early? There was me thinking he would be fashionably late and leaving my deadlines (including this, my first post as a guest blogger for Ibiza Inside!) to the last minute… Eek!
My busy life
As any new mother knows, juggling work with home-life can be demanding especially when your schedule demands so much travelling. At the start of the year I took my new little companion with me to Miami to meet some clients for made-to-measure consultations, do a bit of trend-spotting and I must admit, soak up some sunshine we then crossed the pond over to Paris for the yarn shows, met with some more of my lovely clients, bought far too many new outfits for Gabriel and drank wine, a lot of wine!
‘Goddess’ by Rebecca Cella is my latest collection. I looked at iconic movie stars, (or “goddesses” as we have come to view them) from the past century. The collection is reminiscent of many different eras. One of my favourites is the ‘Slinky’ Ladder dress, based on Clara Bow, an American actress who rose to stardom in the 1920’s. I also love the more structured, semi opaque ‘Goddess’ dress, which has Jessica Rabbit sex appeal. I love the way the fabric supports like ‘Spanx slimming intimates’ in sculpting and streamlining your shape without being heavy and dense, therefore giving that supportive effect without feeling like you are back in the sixteenth century.

Your Big Day on Ibiza
Ibiza is a whimsical wedding wonderland. It has an ethereal quality that brings to life that wedding most of us have dreamt about: rustic and dreamy and straight out of a fairy tale book. Finding the perfect dress is definitely one of the most exciting and daunting parts to planning a wedding. From backless slinky fishtails to pearlescent sequin encrusted mini dresses, with my made-to-measure bridal service, brides-to-be get the opportunity to explore an Aladdin’s cave of luxury and delicate yarns, embellishments, fabric designs and of course the style of gown you desire. I then design your dress using all the elements, you have chosen, measure you up and knit (yes knit!) your dress. It will fit you like a glove and you will feel like a princess! A sassy one at that!
Get your guest book ready
Guest books are a great place to get creative as you will keep them forever as a keepsake of your special day. For my wedding in 2010 I found an old book at a flea market which had an intricate spine and yellowed pages. I then gold-leafed the cover and found a vintage Spanish postcard (which was a theme I ran with) for the front. The inside pages I covered with little pieces of tracing paper. It was passed around at my wedding and gradually the pages became decorated with lovely messages, funny stories, drawings, lipstick kisses and pressed flowers from my bouquet. The guest book is a small detail but it is one that you will treasure forever! They also make a great gift for someone you know who is getting married!
