Restaurant Cami de Balafia Ibiza

If you feel like having dinner on Ibiza in a special historical place, then Cami de Balafia is the place to be. Michael Bennett is taking you on a trip to one of the oldest parts of Ibiza.

Cami de Balafia on Ibiza

If you fancy something meaty in the evening (sorry vegetarians, probably not for you!) head up Carretera San Joan de Labritja (San Juan as you wish). It‘s the second but last restaurant on the stretch of the road on the way to the village with the same name, and it is slightly set back just off the main road. Here you will find restaurant Cami de Balafia. This restaurant represents the real spirit of Ibiza. You can eat under the stars in a beautiful hacienda courtyard covered by orange trees; there is indoor seating as well in the unlikely event of a freaky thunder storm.

Cami de Balafia on Ibiza run by a local family a must visit!

A restaurant where famous people like to wine and dine

This place is frequented by the famous (Mick & Jade Jagger, Kate Moss, and many others (also the not-so-famous faces of Ibiza). There is no menu as it’s the place for meat and in particular, steak. Great big succulent slabs of it are cooked on a huge outdoor grill where free-range chicken, rabbit, lamb and pork chops with the most delicious chips (hand peeled by the grandfather) are also served. Along with the meat comes the best onion and sweet tomato salad and fantastic aioli, which is utterly delicious, if you don’t mind reeking of garlic!

Run by a local family

The place is run by a great local family who offer a friendly and informal service. It’s a meat eater‘s paradise and an excellent place to unwind in the cool of the evening after a hard day on the beach! There is also an outstanding wine list. The restaurant is always crowded in summer so you need to book a table in advance. On Sundays it is closed. Paying by credit card isn’t possible. You can find Cami de Balafia at Carretera San Joan de Labritja, km 15.4. And when you like to give them a call please dial this number : +34 971 32 50 19
