Ibiza is famous for its salt and the salt flats in the “Ses Salinas natural parc” have a long and rich history. For almost 2,800 years, and long before tourism discovered the island, Ibiza’s salt has been a leading source of export for the rest of the world.
What is Sal de Ibiza
Sal de Ibiza is a brand with a line of fantastic table salt products, consisting of 100% Ibizan sea-salt, offered in nice little jars, and rapt with a fresh label. Our kitchen is stuffed full with Sal de Ibiza products and they often provide a great gift for friends and family as well.
Sal de Ibiza is harvested exclusively in what is today’s nature reserve “Parc Natural de ses Salines d’Eivissa”. It contains no additives whatsoever and is slowly dried under the Ibizan sun accompanied by an ocean breeze. It is gently grinded in ancient stone mills, enabling the salt to retain its more than 80 vital minerals and trace-elements which are essential for the human body.
Sal the Ibiza offers many products. Fleur de Sel (blossom of salt) is the purest of all table salts. Left untouched by any kind of refining, Fleur de Sel is much milder than regular salt. When you like something spicier, we recommend salt with chili peppers and if you like something different, try the salt with herbs such as basil, oregano, and rosemary. Another product Virgil can never resist is the dark chocolate. The carefully composed blend of South American cocoa beans combines particularly well with Fleur de Sel.
