The word ”detox” again? Yes again! We are constantly subjects to more toxins than ever before through the food we eat, the  medications we take, the water we drink, the air we breath, even trough the thoughts we have. Too many toxins in our body cannot only cause irritation but also serious harm and destruction.

When metabolic waste from toxins builds up in our body, we get sick which is why it is so important minimizing our exposure to toxins and to enhance our bodies’ ability to get rid of waste. This is fundamental for great health, as many of today’s diseases are linked to toxicity. The more toxins we are exposed to, which may even start under the hot shower where water is contaminated pollutants and the shampoo is full of chemicals, the harder it is for the body to work at eliminating these toxins.

But don’t worry; while it is impossible to abolish our exposure to all toxins, we can actually still reduce a whole lot of unnecessary exposure and prove the body’s efficiency and eliminate them by daily following some really easy tips for a much happier body and mind.

Morning rituals and lemon water

calmness 1
Start your day slowly with little rituals that makes you feel good and find yourself being much less stressed throughout the day.

Once you hear the alarm, don’t spring up right away, allow yourself to just lay in bed for a few minutes listening to nothing. Enjoy the stillness of the morning, breathe long and deep and tell yourself it’s going to be a good day. Then drink a glass of lemon water first thing getting out of bed, it does wonders for your digestion and immunity. Lemon juice helps flush out unwanted materials, in part because lemons increase the rate of urination in the body. This is why the toxins are released at a faster rate, which helps keep your urinary track healthy. Lemons help maximize enzyme function because of its citric acid, which stimulates the liver and helps in detoxification.

Go natural

The skin is the largest organ of the body and it’s believed that our skin absorbs 60-70% of any topical products we use. Many personal care products are unfortunately full of chemicals that are no good for our health. To prevent the absorption of these chemicals try to go for natural organic products free from perfume, parabens, and synthetic colouring which is just a few among many other harmful chemicals in personal care products.

Natural oils are some of the best products for beautiful skin and hair. Rinse your skin with coconut oil, which has antibacterial properties, use rose water to calm the skin and go for almond oil, which is rich in vitamin A, B and E, as a nightly moisturizer before going to bed or even under your daily organic moisturizer and you will have healthy glowing skin. Coconut oil can be substituted for pretty much as a product. Use it as a really gentle but effective make up remover, a hair mask that will make your hair amazingly soft, a facial mask or even as a remedy for shaving cream and you will notice the difference.

Not only does exercise leaves you feeling happier, more relaxed and less anxious, but it also boosts energy, combats health conditions and controls weight. When we exercise blood stimulation improves bringing nutrients to all of our organs. Exercise aids the lymphatic system, which removes toxins from the body; this is why it is an easy way to boost its natural detoxification process. Higher intensity workout increases sweat and eliminates toxins through our skin, which is important for daily detox especially for toxins not eliminated through our urine or bowel movements. Exercising also releases dopamine, the ”happy” chemical, which is a neurotransmitter in our brain that is necessary for feelings of pleasure and happiness.

Try to live by the words “ if you can’t eat it, don’t put it on the skin”.

Hydrate!!

water

Water is so beneficial. Your body is about 70% percent water. The majority of your blood and every cell in your body are composed of water, therefore we need water to stay healthy and function properly. When you don’t get water you can get constipated, headaches, cravings, dry skin and dull hair. It can be quite confusing to know the exact amount or water to drink in a day, some say 8 glasses of water, others say that it depends on your body weight. Listen to what your body tells you. Drinking enough water helps to improve focus, concentration and keep your energy levels up. It reduces hunger, raises your metabolism and flushes out toxins. It also improves skin complexion, aids in digestion and reduce headaches.

So let the water flow in you and feel great !

Or mind, body and souls are all connected and to keep it well functioning and balances and we need to make sure that all is refreshed, happy and content.
