Ferries from the Spanish mainland
A fantastic way to get to Ibiza is by ferry. Imagine yourself on deck together with your partner or some friends breathing in the fresh sea air. We guarantee this is a fantastic way of traveling. Most ferries provide on-board facilities such as restaurants, a cinema, and even a disco to get warmed up for the Ibiza nightlife. We promise you there is enough to do during the trip. If you like to get some rest instead, just retreat in your comfortable cabin.
Most of the Balearic ferries you can book online. There are some websites comparing the different possibilities or you can go directly to one of the Ferry Companies. There are basically two main ferry operators that will take you to Ibiza from the Spanish mainland, Trasmediterranea and Balearia. They bring you in a day or night trip in about 8-9 hours to your destination. You also have the option to take the fast ferry. Ticket prices vary depending on which ferry you take. The three locations the ferries depart from on the Spanish mainland are Denia, Barcelona and Valencia.
There are different price ranges as far as accommodation on board is concerned. You can book your trip including a cabin but you can also choose to travel without. Another advantage of traveling by ferry is that you can take your car with you. When you are taking more things such as surfboards or bicycles, there are additional costs since you will take up some more space in the baggage compartment.
If you’d like to take your pet with you, additional costs will be charged, and you have to keep in mind that your pet can only stay in a designated area of the ferry. In most cases you will need to take care of your pet yourself during the trip. If you are disabled and you want to travel by ferry, make sure that you contact the ferry operator beforehand. Most of the time there is a special number you need to dial in order to get assistance while boarding the ferry.
